SUMMARY: The Electrician leads and participates in the installation, maintenance, modification, overhaul,
service, and repair of residential electrical systems, works together with all service and delivery staff for the
installation of energy efficiency, renewable, storage, or fuel switching programmatic goals. Services to include the
delivery and installation for qualified customers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
1. Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring
2. Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components
3. Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards
4. Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
5. Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
6. Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
7. Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
8. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
9. Troubleshoot problems and make timely repair
10. Perform tenant improvements including repair and replacement of meter mains, main panel and sub panels
11. Install new electrical appliance circuits as needed for new appliances
12. Perform electrical system and/or distribution upgrades for installation of solar, battery or generator systems
13. Assist with other energy efficiency projects as assigned based on availability of electrical workload
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program, Completion of an
electrician program at a technical or trade school, Journeyman Electrician license in state of practice, 3-5 years of
electrical experience, Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams,
Working knowledge of electrical theory, and the associated principles, materials, and equipment, Demonstrated
ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work. Any combination of the above sufficient to
professionally complete residential electrical projects and perform the essential duties of the position.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic computer skills required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak
effectively before groups of customers, employees or organizations. Must be personable and be able to effectively
communicate with others from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in
situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written,
oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, California driver’s license, and
minimum auto insurance as required by law. Must maintain good driving record.
