Today is Administrative Professionals Day! We want to highlight our outstanding staff for their efforts in creating the best experience possible for our customers and students.
On Friday, April 21st, Our Visalia Service Center were hard at work providing aid to 229 farmworkes who picked up their $600 relief payment from the USDA & La Cooperativa Campesina de California. On this day we distributed $137,000 to help farmworkers, frontline farm, grocery, and meatpacking workers for expenses incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We would like to highlight the staff at the Visalia Service Center: Jose Chavez Bravo, Rosa Iza-Guirre, Nora Castellanos, Rosio Reyes Hernandez, and Elenor-Ventura.
Art and poetry are some of the most beautiful forms of human expression. During our 2nd annual Cesar Chavez art and poetry contest, we put out a call to the community to submit art or poetry for a juried show in hopes of winning one of our 18 prizes, but more importantly to learn about culture, express themselves in a meaningful way, ask questions they never thought about before, and make connections to their own lives. It's also a great opportunity for artists of all ages to showcase their work to the public and share their story during our recent reception at the Fresno Service Center.
The contest was open to the public regardless of the age or experience. The only requirement was that the entries had to be original and relate to the theme which was "A voice for farmworkers". Along with the reception, we had food, Easter eggs for the kids, and cash prizes. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out.
Below we have included a list of the winners:
